Geo Party! Divergent Category

This was the third week of Zoe’s Geo Party! Game 2, featuring the novel Divergent by Veronica Roth. Special thanks to Veronica Roth for writing an excellent story which inspired me to make trivia clues about it—when I knew I would be going to Chicago last November, I just had to seek out places from her book.

On the ferris wheel in Chicago.

On the ferris wheel in Chicago.

This category took us to real locations also used as settings for the fiction story. (Hmm, that sounds familiar.) Visiting places where my favorite stories take place is a bit surreal, but in a good way. What’s your favorite story set somewhere you’ve been? Miss a clue? Rewatch all five with the links below:

Geo Party! Divergent Clue 5

Posted by Zoe on 23rd August 2013 in Geo Party

This week, we explore Divergent, by Veronica Roth, a young adult dystopian novel.  It’s also one of my current favorite books.

I wandered through the real-life version of Chicago, the city where the book is set, to make clues in locations from the story like this one. The sculpture known as the Bean or Cloud Gate is an iconic symbol of Chicago, and exactly as cool as it looks. I got lucky enough to film there when there were hardly any other people there. Pretty soon after, there was a whole tour group!
